Pensioner hurt by robbery gang

A 79-year-old woman was injured when a gang ransacked her home in Castlereagh at around 10.25pm on Wednesday.

The pensioner answered the door of her Mayfair Avenue home to be confronted by a group of males.

They forced their way into the house and held her down before one of the men moved her into another room. A 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman who were in the house at the time were held in the same room while the men searched the house.

They eventually made off with a sum of money.

The 79-year-old sustained an injury to her elbow and all three victims were badly shaken by the incident.

Police have appealed for information on 0845 600 8000.
