Three men have been arrested after two million black market cigarettes were seized at an industrial park.
The haul was tracked coming through Dublin Port a number of days ago and a sting operation was put in place.
A suspected trafficking gang and the illegal cigarettes were under surveillance until the Garda Organised Crime Unit and Customs officers moved in.
The haul was intercepted as it was being loaded from a shipping container on to a flat bed truck in Greenogue Business Park, Newcastle, Co Dublin.
The seizure is believed to be worth about 860,000 euro with an estimated potential loss to the Revenue of 500,000 euro.
Gardai arrested three men at the scene, two aged 44 and one aged 38.
Two lorries, a van and a car were impounded during the raid.
The suspects are being detained at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda stations under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
