Supermarket chain SuperValu has revealed plans to create 300 jobs next year.
The company intends to open three new stores and extend and refurbish 40 others as part of a 20 million euro investment programme.
Some 160 of the jobs will be in new stores on two greenfield sites in Celbridge, Co Kildare, and Milltown Malbay, Co Clare.
SuperValu said it recorded 2.1 billion euro of sales last year.
Managing director Martin Kelleher said: "This is a very good performance, which is ahead of the overall market."
SuperValu has 195 stores nationwide and employs more than 12,000 people.
