Body found in missing angler search

A body has been found after a search for a missing angler at Lough Ree.

Search teams looking for a missing angler from Northern Ireland have recovered a body.

Father-of-three Daryl Burke, 30, from Portadown, Co Armagh, was one of three friends on a fishing trip when their boat sank on Lough Ree, Co Westmeath, on March 20.

RNLI crews who have been scouring the lough since then said they found a body at around 2pm.

The remains have yet to be formally identified.

David Warnock, 27, from Richhill, Co Armagh, was pulled from the water on the day of the tragedy but later died.

Another friend, John Trimble, 60, from Markethill, Co Armagh was the sole survivor.

The three men were all members of the Portadown Pikers angling club.

They had been planning a fishing and camping trip on Lough Ree when the boat sank in poor weather conditions.
