Boyzone singer Mikey Graham will return home this week to be interviewed by gardai about an incident in which a man was injured outside his home.
The 38-year-old is expected to give a full statement to Balbriggan gardai about the incident that left supermarket worker Paul O'Hara being treated in intensive care in Beaumont Hospital for head injuries.
Although it has been reported that Mr Graham was staying at his holiday villa in Nerja, Spain, about 50km from Malaga, he was not home when the Irish Independent called there yesterday.
A local said Mr Graham had been there about three weeks ago, but was not due back again until the summer.
He flew out of Ireland "on business" following the incident at the end of last month.
Mr Graham did not return calls last night, but friends said he will return to Ireland later this week to deal with the fallout from the altercation.
There was no sign of him at his home in north Dublin yesterday where the incident took place.
Blinds on the property were pulled down yesterday and the gates closed.
Mr O'Hara (22) is recovering from his injuries after being released from Beaumont Hospital on Friday afternoon.
The engineering graduate was treated for six days after sustaining head injuries in an incident that occurred outside Mr Graham's home when the intercom was buzzed incessantly, late on the night of Friday April 29.
He couldn't be reached for comment.
One local, who didn't want to be named, was reluctant to take sides.
"It's a terrible shame as both of these men are well liked in the area," he said. "No one wants to say anything, in case they are seen as siding with one side or the other."
Mr Graham's wife, Karen Corradi, and the couple's daughter Sienna (5) were in the house at the time of the incident in which friends said Mr Graham feared for his safety.
Originally the lead-singer of Boyzone before the role was given to Ronan Keating, the Raheny-born music star released a solo album 'Meet Me Halfway' after the group split in 2000, then trained to be an actor and a studio engineer.
He rejoined Boyzone in 2007, last year he took part in ITV's 'Dancing On Ice' television show.
