Four men killed in a car accident in Co Offaly have been named

Four men killed in a car accident in Co Offaly have been named.

Brothers David, Darren and Ryan Doyle - aged 24, 27 and 17 - all died at the scene when their car collided with a minibus at around 5.30pm on Friday.

The driver, Lee Bryan, 24, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

All four victims were from Portarlington in Co Laois.

The accident happened on the R420, Tullamore to Geashill Road.

It was closed to traffic afterwards to allow for forensic collision investigators to inspect the scene.

Three people in the minibus were taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore. Their injuries have been described as non life-threatening.

Gardai in Tullamore have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
