Bus crash victim was Wicklow man

Police have identified a man who was killed when he was hit by a Dublin Bus vehicle

A man killed when he was hit by a bus following an alleged roadside altercation was from Wicklow.

The victim, named locally as 28-year-old Eoghan Dudley from Newcastle, died on Thursday evening after suffering severe head injuries in the incident in Dublin city centre.

Gardai had to release a detailed description of Mr Dudley before he was identified on Saturday. It is alleged onlookers saw some men arguing just before the incident, at the busy junction of Dawson Street and Nassau Street.

A 29-year-old man arrested will be brought before Dublin District Court on Monday.
