Seven people have been taken to hospital after a chemical spill in a factory.
The incident happened at the Chemifloc plant in Smithstown Industrial Estate, Shannon, Co Clare.
Five men and two women, all understood to be employees, were taken to Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for assessment at accident and emergency.
It is understood they suffered with breathing difficulties following a chlorine spill.
The factory has manufactured and supplied water treatment products to both the private and public sector since 1981.
A Garda spokesman said the scene has since reopened.
