PSNI officers and Gardai have launched a hunt for a bogus taxi driver who raped a man in Donegal.
The victim, in his 20s, was picked up in Londonderry city centre at 5.50am on Sunday
Has offered a lift in a silver car from the Heather Road/Elaghmore area.
He told police that he was then driven across the border into Co Donegal, to a road leading to Inch Island, known locally as The Watery Road in the townland of Carnashannagh.
It was there the attack, lasting approximately one hour, is alleged to have taken place.
After what’s been described as a harrowing ordeal the victim was then driven back to Derry.
The attacker is described as middle aged, small about 5’6,” stocky and balding and was driving a silver car, believed to be a Vauxhaul.
