Driver dies and two hurt in crash

Gardai are investigating the death of a motorist in a car crash outside Clane in Co Kildare

A motorist has been killed and his two passengers injured in a road crash.

Gardai said the 35-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, about four miles outside Clane, Co Kildare, at 9.25am.

His remains were removed to taken to the morgue at Naas where a post- mortem examination will be carried out.

His two passengers, aged 49 and 24, were taken to Tallaght Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other vehicle was involved in the collision on the lane to Kilcock Road.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses.
