Explosive device thrown at house

Gardai appealed for witnesses after an explosive device was thrown at a home

Gardai have appealed for witnesses after an explosive device was thrown at a home in the capital.

The attack occurred at around 10.30pm on Saturday night in Castlecourt Estate in the south Dublin suburb of Killiney.

A device was thrown through the window of the house and exploded in a front room, causing damage.

Army bomb experts were called and declared the area safe shortly after 1am.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the attack and the scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.

Gardai have urged anyone who saw suspicious activity in the estate to come forward.
