A number of homes have been raided as part of a blitz on organised crime

Gardai targeting organised crime have raided a number of properties in north Dublin.

The operation involves 100 officers from the elite Special Detective Unit, the Garda dog unit and the north central division.

Three people were arrested during the searches, including two men, aged 54 and 46, and a woman aged 55.

All three are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

They are being questioned at Store Street, Bridewell and Whitehall Garda stations.

During the searches a small amount of ammunition and around 500 euro-worth of cocaine was seized.
