Two gardai have been injured when their car was rammed in Co Donegal.

Police discovered juveniles allegedly trying to remove copper wire from an Eircom yard at Bridgend on Sunday morning.

A Garda spokesman said: "The men tried to flee the scene and rammed a Garda patrol car in the process."

Three male youths were arrested, two are being detained at Buncrana garda station and the other is receiving treatment at Letterkenny General Hospital.

Two gardai were injured and treated at Letterkenny Hospital but both were released later.

Two juveniles will appear at Letterkenny District Court on Monday in connection with the incident, the spokesman added.
