Gardai seize drugs worth 2.5m euro

One man, aged in his early 40s, was arrested during the raids in the Coolock area of Dublin

Drugs worth an estimated 2.5 million euro have been seized by gardai in Dublin.

One man, aged in his early 40s, was arrested during the raids in the Coolock area in the north of the city.

The significant haul of cannabis herb was found during searches of a number of premises.

Gardai said yesterday's operation was guided by intelligence.

The arrested man has been detained at Coolock garda station under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

He can be held for questioning for up to seven days.
