Three women have been arrested after detectives seized a firearm and cosmetics during a house raid.
Gardai said they uncovered a sawn-off shot gun and ammunition while searching a property at Dunsink, west Dublin.
They said a large amount of cosmetic products was also recovered.
A home-made handgun was also found in a nearby vehicle.
The raid was part of an ongoing investigation, a Garda spokesman said. A woman aged in her 40s and two women aged in their 20s were arrested at the scene.
The woman in her 40s is being held under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
The other women are being detained under section four of the Criminal Justice Act, on suspicion of handling stolen property.
They are all being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda station.
