A leading waste management firm is to create 35 jobs after securing a major investment deal.
The City Bin Co has sold a majority shareholding worth 15 million euro to averda, the biggest waste management company in North Africa and the Middle East.
New positions will be created in Dublin and Galway over the coming months with jobs in service delivery, IT and customer service.
Gene Browne, The City Bin Co chief executive, said the expansion will see the workforce grow by 50%.
"The City Bin Co has ambitious growth plans for the future and prides itself on its customer-centric business model," he said.
"The averda deal is a welcome signal of international confidence in our model and an excellent opportunity to drive international best practice in the European waste sector."
The deal will secure averda's entry into Europe and the company says it is the first step in a major expansion, with Ireland as the company's headquarters for the continent.
