Gardai investigating the murder of Ciaran Noonan, at the site of discovered remains on the Dublin side of Trim, Co Meath
The 29-year-old's body was discovered in a ditch in Co Meath in November, weeks after he was abducted by a gang.
A Garda spokesman said a man in his 20s has been arrested in the Dublin area in connection with the case.
He is detained at Store Street Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He is the 12th arrest in connection with the murder.
Mr Noonan was kidnapped over a suspected drug debt after being assaulted by a gang in October.
Originally from Blanchardstown, the drug user was bundled into a black VW Golf on Russell Avenue by several men.
The car was recovered in the car park of an apartment complex in Ashbourne.
Search teams began examining farmland in Meath and north Dublin after a man came forward with information and showed gardai where Mr Noonan's body was dumped.
Mark Allen, 33, a father of one from Bayliss Village in Johnstown, Co Kildare, was later charged with falsely imprisoning Mr Noonan.
