A man has been arrested after the seizure of drugs with a street value of almost 1.5 million euro.
Officers from Dundalk uncovered the cannabis resin haul when they stopped a van at Martin's Cross in the town on Wednesday afternoon.
The Garda National Drug Unit was also involved in the operation.
The 240kg of cannabis resin is thought to have a street value of 1.44 million euro.
It has been sent for technical examination.
The Garda press office said one man in his 30s was arrested.
He is being detained under section four of the Criminal Justice Act at Dundalk Garda station.
