Man critical after hit and run

A man has been taken to hospital after a hit and run in Dublin

A man is fighting for his life after a hit and run in Dublin.

The incident happened on Trinity Lane at the back of Clonliffe Road in the city's north side at around 1pm.

The man, 34, was taken to the Mater Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Gardai discovered a burned out car on Stoney Road in the East Wall area of the city, about 35 minutes after the incident and believe it may have been involved.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and gardai have appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman said they would "investigate all the circumstances surrounding the incident".
