Man dies in road crash

A man in his early 30s has died after a road crash in Co Longford.

A man in his early 30s has died after a road crash in Co Longford.

The single vehicle accident happened at Esker South near Ballinalee just before 6am this morning.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood the car he was driving hit a bridge wall on a minor road.

Gardai from Granard have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses. The road is closed for forensic examination.
