Man faces cocaine seizure questions

Gardai are questioning a man over the seizure of more than 100,000 euro worth of cocaine

A man is being questioned over the seizure of more than 100,000 euro worth of cocaine.

The 37-year-old was arrested in Dublin city on Thursday night by gardai from Store Street station investigating the sale and supply of the drug.

Gardai said a follow-up search was conducted at a premises at Belvedere Avenue in the north inner city where the cocaine was seized.

It is believed to have an estimated street value of 105,000 euro pending analysis.

The suspect is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

Elsewhere two men were quizzed in Limerick over the seizure of 630,000 euro worth of cannabis herb and resin.

Gardai stopped and searched a car on the Ballysimon Road at approximately 1pm on Thursday and discovered 500,000 euro worth of cannabis in the vehicle.

In a follow-up search another 130,000 euro worth of the drug was discovered in a house in the Rhebogue area of Limerick.

Two men, one in his early 30s and another in his early 40s, were arrested in relation to the seizure. They were later released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
