Man in hospital after Cork stabbing

The scene of a stabbing in Cork has been sealed off for a technical examination by Garda forensic experts

A man is being treated in hospital after being stabbed a number of times, gardai said.

The attack happened at Parkview, Wellington Road in Cork city at around 6.25am.

The 35-year-old victim received a number of wounds during the incident.

Paramedics called to the scene rushed the man to Cork University Hospital where he is undergoing medical treatment.

It is understood his injuries are not life-threatening.

Gardai said they are investigating all the circumstances in relation to the stabbing.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination by Garda forensic experts.

Investigating officers at Mayfield Garda station have appealed to anyone who was in the Parkview area between 6am and 6.30am on Monday morning to contact them.
