Taoiseach Enda Kenny has welcomed the creation of jobs by Rigney Dolphin

Thirty jobs are to be created at an IT company in Waterford.

Rigney Dolphin has begun recruiting for the new positions after sealing a deal to provide support services to the Cleveland Clinic in the US.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the expansion highlighted the importance of the relationship between Ireland and the US, and the business opportunities it offers Irish companies.

"As an open economy I welcome the fact that Irish businesses are successful in the global market and from building on today's successful collaboration I hope that Rigney Dolphin will further embrace new opportunities abroad," he said.

Rigney Dolphin already employs more than 1,100 people at offices in Waterford, Dublin and Dundalk.

The agreement to provide patient management, patient outreach and telephone services to Cleveland Clinic was announced during Mr Kenny's visit to Boston.

The 30 new roles will be in clinical and support services, and the company expects to create more jobs in the future.

Dr Frank Dolphin, executive chairman of Rigney Dolphin, said working with Cleveland Clinic helped the company tap into the global healthcare market.

"It has enabled Rigney Dolphin to launch its services into an international market and has proven Irish firms can attain global standards in quality, delivery and growth," he added.
