Around 30 new jobs are being created with the opening of an Eddie Rocket's outlet in Kildare.

The new branch in Naas brings the number of Eddie Rocket's restaurants in Ireland to 41, employing more than 1,000 people.

The company has created 70 new jobs this year.

Niall Fortune, chairman of Rocket restaurants, said: "At a time when every new job counts, we are delighted to be playing our part along with our franchisees, Matt and Fionnuala Kelly, in creating 30 jobs with the opening of our new Diner in Naas."

Earlier this year a new Eddie Rocket's opened in Carlow town creating 30 new jobs.

Eddie Rocket's in the Stillorgan Shopping Centre in Dublin has re-opened after a revamp, adding a further 10 jobs to the 20 already in the diner.
