A woman is in hospital after being hit by a garda patrol van.
The Garda Ombudsman has appealed for witnesses to the incident outside the Opera House on Lavitts Quay in Cork city at about midnight on Thursday.
The 21-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital, where her injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.
