Pedestrian killed by motorcycle

A Garda spokesman said the road to the harbour in Rossaveel is closed until forensic collision investigators examine the scene

A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a motorbike.

The accident happened at Rossaveel, Co Galway, at about 9pm on Friday night.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to University College Hospital, Galway.

A man driving the bike and his female pillion passenger were also taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

A Garda spokesman said the road to the harbour in Rossaveel is closed until forensic collision investigators examine the scene.
