RTE Radio has been honoured with a prestigious broadcaster of the year award.
Programmes on the state broadcaster also scooped another 16 accolades at the New York Festivals radio awards.
It is the first time in the festivals' 54-year history that an Irish radio station has won the acclaimed status of broadcaster of the year.
Some 183 finalists from 26 countries competed for the top prize.
Clare Duignan, managing director of RTE Radio, said: "This year, not only have RTE Radio 1, RTE lyric fm and RTE Gold won a total of 16 awards, but the grand jury, comprised of top-level industry professionals from five continents, have crowned RTE Radio as the broadcaster of the year.
"It is a real achievement."
Seven awards, plus a grand award, went to Radio 1's Documentary On One, six were for Radio 1's Drama On One, there was one each for lyric fm, RTE Gold and the station's seven digital services.
Ms Duignan added: "Not only do these awards confirm RTE Radio's excellence in public broadcasting, they place RTE Radio among the greatest of our public broadcasting peers internationally.
"When you look at the breadth of the wins, from drama to documentary, music to history, sport to health, you get an insight into the variety of genres offered by RTE Radio."
