A four-year-old boy left fighting for his life after a house fire that killed his little brother has died.
Their mother, Stacey Ellard, remains in a serious condition in hospital, where Calvin died on Wednesday afternoon.
His two-year-old brother Cian was killed in the blaze at their Cork home in the early hours of Sunday morning.
All three were sleeping in an upstairs bedroom when the fire broke out in the kitchen of their home in Elm Park, Wilton.
Desperate neighbours who smashed a window and pushed open the front door tried in vain to save the young family before they were overcome by dense smoke.
They were unconscious when rescued by firefighters and given CPR at the scene before being taken to Cork University Hospital, where Cian was pronounced dead.
A Garda spokesman confirmed the four-year-old, who started school in September, died at about 2pm.
