Toddler in critical condition after being kicked in head by horse

A toddler is fighting for his life in hospital after being kicked in the head by a horse.

It happened on the Rosemount Estate in Thurles, Co Tipperary at around 8.15pm on Tuesday night.

The Coastguard airlifted the two-year-old boy to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where he was described as being in a critical condition.

Locals described Rosemount as an affluent estate comprised mainly of detached family homes.
