Two held at oil laundering site
Wednesday, 25 January 2012
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service and Gardai made the discovery in Courtbane, Hackballscross.
Two men in their late 20s were arrested - one with a Dublin address and the other a home in Northern Ireland.
The plant, which was found hidden behind a curtain in a 40ft trailer, could cost the Exchequer an estimated six million euro a year.
Officers also uncovered a mobile laundering plant in a van, containing two tankers and 25,000 litres of product.
A substantial amount of toxic waste was also found at the site.
