Two people are being questioned over the suspicious death of a man in a city apartment.
The body of the 60-year-old was discovered at a property in Scotch Marsh House, in the Scotch Quay area of Waterford, at around 10.45pm on Monday.
The body remains at the scene, which has been preserved for a forensic examination.
It is understood the victim had suffered head injuries.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out later on Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.
A Garda spokesman said two suspects - a man in his late 40s and a woman in her late 30s - were arrested and are being detained at Waterford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Both can be held for up to 24 hours. Gardai have appealed for information.
