An 80-year-old woman was killed after a car and a van collided on the M50 near the Lucan exit at junction seven.
The accident happened at about 10.30pm on Sunday night.
The van driver suffered non life-threatening injuries.
In the second crash, a 27-year-old woman was killed in a collision at about 1am at Donoughmore, Co Cork.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to both crashes.
