Two women held over knife attack

The women, aged in their 30s, were arrested a short time later but released without charge

Two women were arrested after a 37-year-old man was stabbed in a knife attack on the quays in Dublin city centre on Friday night.

Gardai said the man was injured in an incident on the corner of Aston Quay and Price's Lane at about 9.50pm.

The women, aged in their 30s, were arrested a short time later but released without charge.

A file on the case is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecution.

The man was taken by ambulance to St James's Hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardai at Pearse Street have appealed for witnesses.
