Rock giants U2 are to give away a new song - in a move which is expected to generate more than £1 million - to help the fight against Aids.
The band, who are expected to release a new album shortly, will unveil the track called Invisible on February 2 when it features in a US TV ad for fundraising partnership (RED) during the Super Bowl.
The track will then be made available on iTunes for 24 hours and for each download during that time, the Bank Of America will donate 60 pence to a maximum of £1.2 million to the Global Fund To Fight Aids,Tuberculosis And Malaria.
It will provide life-saving treatment to tens of millions of people in poor countries.
He said: "Bank of America coming on as a (RED) partner to help the Global Fund's efforts to eliminate Aids is great news.
"It's the kind of game-changing influence that will not just deliver millions of dollars but raise consciousness and keep public pressure on putting an end to this devastating pandemic which has already taken the lives of 35 million people."
The bank's commitment to (RED) is said to be worth £6 million.
U2's last album No Line In The Horizon was released in 2009, and their track Ordinary Love from the soundtrack to Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom was nominated for an Oscar last week.
