Vehicle found in kidnapping inquiry

Gardai have recovered a car linked to the kidnapping of Ciaran Noonan

A car believed to have been used in the kidnapping of man in debt over drugs has been recovered.

Gardai said the black Volkswagen Golf was found in a car park at Killegland Apartments, Ashbourne, Co Meath, on Saturday evening.

The vehicle is thought to have been used in the abduction of 29-year-old Ciaran Noonan as he walked in the East Wall area of Dublin last Thursday evening.

A gang chased the man, attacked him and bundled him into the car before making off at speed.

The car is being forensically examined, a Garda spokesman said.

Gardai in Store Street also renewed their appeal for information on the assault and kidnapping or anyone who may have seen the car between Thursday and Saturday to come forward.

A woman in her mid-20s was arrested on Monday afternoon in connection with the abduction.

She was taken in for questioning at Store Street Garda Station in Dublin under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
