A woman in her 30s has escaped injury after shots were fired into a house.
A gunman opened fire twice at the home in Dublin Road, Longford.
Gardai said the attack took place at about 11.30pm.
No-one was injured, no arrests have been made and investigations are continuing, said the spokeswoman.
A forensic examination was due to take place at the property.
