Woman's body found in hotel room

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination by Garda forensic experts

Detectives are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in a hotel room in Dublin.

Cleaning staff found the woman, aged either 30 or 31, at the Plaza Hotel in Tallaght at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

It is believed she is Irish and has an address in the Tallaght area.

A Garda spokesman confirmed the State Pathologist Marie Cassidy has been asked to attend the scene and carry out a full post-mortem examination.

The scene has also been sealed off for a technical examination by Garda forensic experts.

Investigating gardai later arrested a man in his late 20s.

The suspect is being held at Tallaght Garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
