They may be here for an intense 10-day training camp, but it hasn't stopped speculation that Ronaldo and his Real Madrid pals will hit the town this weekend.

And Maynooth is bracing itself in anticipation. A local nightclub has sent out invites to the team, which includes €400m worth of talent, while a local bookmaker is taking odds on who Cristiano Ronaldo will 'score' with this weekend.

One report today even stated that a number of Dublin model agencies had been in touch with Real Madrid and with local nightclubs to find out where the team would be going this weekend.

In the meantime all eyes will be on the newly opened Mantra nightclub in Maynooth where speculation is intense that the team will be spend some time over the coming days.

Christy Leonard, who runs the club said today that he has reserved the VIP section for the team.

"We've three large booths we can section off for VIPs," he said.

Popstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor jetted in to perform at a star-studded bash to celebrate the opening of the club recently, and was joined at the launch by Corrie stars Michelle Keegan and Gray O'Brien, along with dozens of other famous Irish faces.

Real Madrid arrived in Ireland on Monday and will stay here until after their friendly match with Shamrock Rovers this Monday.

They are staying at the four-star Carton House, where a training camp has been set up for their stay.

And the players had a surprise yesterday when former boxing middleweight world champion Chris Eubank popped in to check-out the team's training session.

Madrid are favourites to win the Spanish league after spending almost €200m on players this summer alone.

Along with Ronaldo they have forked out €70m on Brazilian Kaka, and are expected to sign Liverpool's Xabi Alonso in the coming days.
