Ryanair slams Sammy Wilson over baggage fees row

Sammy Wilson has been branded out of touch with people after the Finance Minister took a swipe at Ryanair’s new baggage rules.

Mr Wilson urged people to boycott the budget airline as it emerged they could be charged up to £80 extra per bag checked in.

Anyone unable to check in online will be charged £40 for the first bag and a whopping £80 for the second.

Mr Wilson said it showed “contempt and disdain” for passengers.

But the airline's Stephen McNamara hit back, saying fliers have been “snapping up” Ryanair fares.

“The comments from Sammy Wilson are not only false, they show that he is completely out of touch with how ordinary people travel,” he said.
