Search for teen off Irish coast
Monday, 22 March 2010
A search was continuing yesterday for a man swept out to sea off the south-west coast of Ireland.
The man, thought to be aged 19 and from Scotland, was walking along the shore under cliffs near Baltimore, Co Cork, yesterday morning when he was struck by a wave and carried into the water.
A friend was also knocked into the sea but managed to recover and raise the alarm. The Irish Coast Guard, Baltimore lifeboat crew and Irish Naval Service have been combing the coastline.
