Detectives investigating the alleged abduction of nine-year-old Shannon Matthews arrested her stepfather's mother and sister.
Amanda Hyett, 25, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and Alice Meehan, 49, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
West Yorkshire police said they had arrested the women in Dewsbury on Friday morning.
"A 25-year old has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 49-year old on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice," it said in a statement.
Shannon went missing in Dewsbury on February 19 and was discovered in the base of a bed at an address in Batley Carr, just one mile from her home, after a dramatic 24-day police search.
On Thursday Shannon's 22-year-old stepfather Craig Meehan was remanded in custody on charges of possessing indecent images of children.
