Shock as accomplished showjumper Stephen Moore dies suddenly
Monday, 18 August 2008
There was shock in eventing circles yesterday at the news of the sudden death of rider Stephen Moore.
The showjumper, whose career spanned three decades, died two weeks after sustaining an injury at an event at Glenarm, Co Antrim.
Moore, 45, died suddenly on Friday evening in hospital after collapsing at home, and it was thought last night that his death was as a result of complications arising from a punctured lung.
While competing at the Glenarm event on August 2, Moore was seriously injured. He suffered a broken collarbone and broken ribs and was taken to hospital. He had been discharged before collapsing at home.
