Nearly half of consumers are planning to buy some of their Christmas presents in the January sales to cut costs, a survey showed yesterday.
Around 47% of people said they would do between 10% and 50% of their Christmas shopping after the festive period, according to website PriceGrabber.co.uk.
Many people also started their Christmas shopping early this year in a bid to spread the cost, with 21% beginning in October, while 10% started in September and 14% were buying presents even earlier.
