Six injured in Antrim car smash

Six people were taken to hospital, some in a serious condition, after a car crash in Co Antrim last night.

At around 5.30pm police received a report that two cars had been involved in a collision at close to the Longrig junction at Seven Mile Straight, outside Antrim.

It is understood that two women, three men and a male child aged under 10 were taken to hospital.

A PSNI spokesman said initial inquiries suggested that two of the males had serious injuries.

Meanwhile, part of the Glenshane Road, between Burren Road and Teevan Road outside Dungiven was closed last night following a collision.

The incident, involving a car and a tractor, was reported shortly after 7.20pm.
