Ulster sports fans will be going 'snooker loopy' as some of the world's biggest stars hit Belfast for a weekend of action.
The top 32 ranking players, plus 16 qualifiers, are in the final stages of their preparations for the Northern Ireland Trophy, one of the fastest growing competitions on the circuit.
The tournament, which is supported by Belfast City Council and the Northern Ireland Events Company, takes place at the Waterfront Hall from this Sunday.
Home favourites Joe Swail and Mark Allen will be among those competing for the title, alongside defending champion Ding Jun Hui, Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins, Stephen Hendry, Mark Selby, Steve Davis, and man of the moment Mark Fu.
"The fact that the Northern Ireland Trophy is one of the most eagerly anticipated tournaments on the snooker calendar emphasises the fact that we have well and truly taken our place on the world stage," said Belfast Lord Mayor Jim Rodgers.
"I wish all the competitors the very best over the week of the competition, and I am sure we will see some keenly contested, world class snooker."
Tickets for the Northern Ireland Trophy start at £8 (concessions £5).
