Soldier's letter arrives 64 years after being sent

A soldier's letter has arrived at its destination 64 years after being sent.

British serviceman Charles Fleming sent the hand-written letter to his "dearest" in 1945.

It was delivered to RAF Lakenheath near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, earlier this week.

"It is impossible for it to have been in the system for more than 64 years," said a Royal Mail spokeswoman.

"The most likely explanation is that it was recently re-posted."
