A mini-heatwave is expected to descend on Northern Ireland this week as summer arrives on time for a change.
Temperatures are expected to rise into the low 70s as the region basks in glorious sunshine - warming us up following the coldest May since 1996.
Despite showers predicted for today, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be warm, dry and sunny with temperatures reaching 20 degrees celcius.
And the glorious weather kicked off yesterday as the region basked in Spring Bank Holiday sunshine.
Families took advantage of the good weather at Stormont estate wher an action-packed family fun day was held with everything from bungee trampolining jumps to puppet shows on offer.
There were 16 zones offering different activities for the young and young at heart, all raising money for the BBC’s Children In Need appeal.
Among the host of attractions was storytelling, penalty kick competitions, dog agility, obedience and heelwork displays to music displays and an opportunity to meet Pudsey and have a photograph taken with him.
Other attractions included guided tours of Parliament Buildings, displays by the PSNI ,the NI Fire and Rescue Service, W5 and Exploris Aquarium.
There was also a display of vintage and modern motorcycles, a climbing tower, face-painting and a sweet tucker trial, where children had to guess the flavour of sweets while blindfolded.
Music was provided outdoors and indoors as scores of people flocked to the event.
Elsewhere, sunworshippers braved the chilly waters of Belfast Lough with people taking a dip at Crawfordsburn Beach near Bangor.
Matt Dobson, forecaste for the Meteo Group said: “Mr Dobson said: “From Wednesday onwards, the weather will improve. It's going to be dry, with sunshine.”
