Thieves raid charity shop

Thieves who stole around £6,000 of jewellery from a Christian charity shop in Co Antrim have robbed thousands of underprivileged children from vital aid, the store’s manager said last night.

Sylvia Crowe was speaking following the brazen robbery of the Blythswood Care charity shop in Ballymoney last week. The thieves stole a glass cabinet containing dozens of pieces of valuable jewellery.

Ms Crowe said: “The money we would raise from the sale of the jewellery would have gone to our projects in Romania and Malawi.

“It would have benefited thousands of children.”
