The teenage brother of a Fermanagh Gaelic footballer was killed in a road accident in the Republic during the St Patrick’s holiday period.
Nicholas Kille (18), from Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, died after being knocked down by a lorry in Bundoran, Co Donegal — one of eight people killed on the roads in the South between midnight on Thursday last and midnight on Tuesday.
He is a younger brother of Fermanagh inter-county GAA footballer Daniel Kille.
Tributes were paid last night to the teenager who was visiting the resort for St Patrick’s Day celebrations when the accident took place on Bundoran’s Main Street early yesterday morning.
Prayers were said yesterday at St Comhghall’s College, Lisnaskea, where the victim was a former pupil. Principal Gary Kelly described the former student as a “gentle giant” who would be sorely missed".
“He was a lovely, very well-mannered young man,” he added.
