A teenage boy has died in hospital after being stabbed.
A male was arrested in connection with the death of the 16-year-old in south-east London.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the scene in Upper Wickham Lane in Welling at about 5pm on Friday after reports of the knifing.
A spokesman said: "Officers attended and a 16-year-old boy was taken to a south London hospital where he died at 6.10pm."
The victim has not yet been formally identified but was believed to live locally.
The spokesman said: "We were called by London Ambulance Service at about 5pm following a report of a male stabbed on Upper Wickham Lane...
"Officers from the homicide and serious crime command have been informed.
"A male, no further details, has been arrested in connection with the investigation and remains in custody at a south London police station."
Next of kin have not yet been informed, police added.
